Section 8 Homeownership Program

The Section 8 home ownership program is funded by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as part of its housing assistance programs.

Qualified families who are already receiving Section 8 rental assistance and meet additional program guidelines could use the assistance to become a homeowner. Once approved, participants could purchase a home using their subsidy as a down payment or as partial mortgage payment.

RDI and Section 8 Homeownership

RDI can assist individuals and families who are already qualified through the Section 8 homeownership program to purchase a home. If you are eligible (see "Eligibility" below), you may be able to qualify for additional financial assistance to buy an RDI home.

• The family must be a first-time home buyer.
